Universal Commutator Relations, Bogomolov Multipliers, and Commuting Probability
Let G be a finite p-group. We prove that whenever the commuting probability of G is greater than (2p2 + p− 2)/p5, the unramified Brauer group of the field of G-invariant functions is trivial. Equivalently, all relations between commutators in G are consequences of some universal ones. The bound is best possible, and gives a global lower bound of 1/4 for all finite groups. The result is attained...
متن کاملMultipliers and Dual Operator Algebras
In a previous paper we showed how the main theorems characterizing operator algebras and operator modules, fit neatly into the framework of the ‘noncommutative Shilov boundary’, and more particularly via the left multiplier operator algebra of an operator space. As well as giving new characterization theorems, the approach of that paper allowed many of the hypotheses of the earlier theorems to ...
متن کاملMultipliers in d-algebras
BCK and BCI-algebras, two classes of algebras of logic, were introduced by Imai and Iseki [1], Iseki [2] and Iseki and Tanaka [3] and have been extensively studied by various other researchers [4, 5]. It is known that the class of BCK-algebras is a proper subclass of the class of BCI-algebras. In [6, 7] a wider class of abstract algebras was introduced by Q.P.Hu and X.Li.They have shown that th...
متن کاملMultipliers of Multidimensional Fourier Algebras
Let G be a locally compact σ-compact group. Motivated by an earlier notion for discrete groups due to Effros and Ruan, we introduce the multidimensional Fourier algebra A(G) of G. We characterise the completely bounded multidimensional multipliers associated with A(G) in several equivalent ways. In particular, we establish a completely isometric embedding of the space of all n-dimensional compl...
متن کاملDouble Multipliers on Topological Algebras
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate some topological properties of the double multiplier algebra on a topological algebra. Let Md(A) be the double multiplier algebra on a topological algebra A, and let u and s be the uniform and strong operator topologies on Md(A), respectively. It is shown, under some additional hypotheses on A, that (1) Md(A) is uand s-complete; (2) A is a u-clos...
